Saturday Evening Manila Time (GMT +8). I was thinking of doing some additional backlink on my main website. And I immediately identified squidoo as one of the website that I will build solid backlinks. The reason why I use squidoo because it has a Staggering page rank of 7. It is also the one of the most popular web 2.0 site on the net. I am not familiar with squidoo’s interface until recently, when I was building backlinks to one of my clients.
The story starts with this. I was planning to create a quality squidoo lense with “Online MLM Strategy” as the main topic. So I register to squidoo and immediately hit the “create the lense” button.
Then I fill up all the form, but when I was close to finish. Squidoo show some unusual message;
One thing is for sure Squidoo banned MLM and Network Marketing keyword on their system. They treat our legal Industry (Network Marketing and MLM) and they level us on Spammers, Scammer and other un ethical people that is blakclisted in their system. I never like Squidoo in the first place. When I was trying to create my account there 3 months ago. They immediately block my I.P. address without any reason. When I was trying to contact them, they said that they block my I.P. because of duplicated content. But that’s impossible because I never create some so called lenses in the first place.
On betternetworker.com forum, they said that Seth Godin was the man behind Squidoo. They said that this guy is a well-respected marketer on the Internet Marketing niche.

Lucky for me that I was not relying my backlink campaign on just one source.
Lesson Learn : “Don’t lay your eggs on one basket” .If you’re doing backlinks, don’t just rely on one source. As a Network Marketer our attitude is to make it happen and do what ever it takes. If Squidoo doesn’t like our content and our industry, then we just have to find another web 2.0 sites and create our content there. Just simple as that.
